Set your table with this sculptural and highly functional platter. Food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Please note that since these are  handcrafted and slight variation is inevitable.  This platter is slipcast using porcelain slip, then dipped in glaze and fired to Cone 6.

Lauren Herzak-Bauman’s practice is three-fold: pottery, sculpture, and public art. Within each of these practices, she focuses using concept and craft to create a transformative experience for her audience. A cup can do that. An immersive installation can do that too. Her pieces are sculptural, somewhat architectural, with such a respect for the natural shape and life of the glaze itself.  Her faceted pieces - vases, bowls, and plates - with their gorgeous matte glazes are reminiscent of found objects - water-weathered time-worn.
