- Description
The Flock vase is inspired by the long lines and angles of sailboats and the gathering of birds. Together, they make a family of objects; alone, they stand astute and purposeful. Functional vases can hold water and flowers or be used decoratively.
This vase is slipcast using porcelain slip, then dipped in glaze and fired to Cone 6.
Designed by Lauren HB Studio. Lauren Herzak-Bauman’s practice is three-fold: pottery, sculpture, and public art. Within each of these practices, she focuses using concept and craft to create a transformative experience for her audience. A cup can do that. An immersive installation can do that too. Her pieces are sculptural, somewhat architectural, with such a respect for the natural shape and life of the glaze itself. Her faceted pieces - vases, bowls, and plates - with their gorgeous matte glazes are reminiscent of found objects - water-weathered time-worn.
