Hiroko Williamson

Hiroko Williamson is a ceramic artist who splits her time between her homes in Massachusetts and Tokyo, Japan.  After moving to the US she found her love of ceramics. Initially she made practical pieces like those one might use daily in Japan. This led to an interest in how people interact with her pieces through sight, touch, and feel.  She derives pleasure from creating complex surface textures and shapes.  Her inspiration is often drawn from her native Japan, and in particular the local crafts from her home region of Iwate.
